Barbecued Spareribs
  • 3 to 4 pounds [1.4 à 1.8 kg] uncut spareribs
  • Salt
  • 2 medium-size onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] salt
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] catsup
  • Pinch red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] black pepper
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] water
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Cut spareribs into individual, approximately 8-rib servings.
  • Arrange spareribs into a roasting pan; salt.
  • Top all over with onion slices.
  • Into a bowl, mix together vinegar, salt, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, catsup, red pepper, paprika, chili powder, black pepper and water.
  • Pour into roasting pan; cover pan.
  • Bake into preheated oven, for 90 minutes.
  • Uncover and higher oven temperature to 375°F [190°C].
  • Bake for 20 minutes longer.
