- 1 [1-inch /2.5-cm] thick slice of ham
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] brown sugar
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] canned peach juice
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] cinnamon
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] cold water

- Preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
- Remove excess fat all around slice of ham; cut slits into remaining fat, every 2 inches [5 cm], to prevent curling while cooking.
- Press brown sugar all over slice of ham; transfer slice into a shallow baking dish.
- Into a small bowl, mix together a little of the peach juice and all of allspice, ginger and cinnamon, into a smooth, easy to spread paste.
- Slowly stir in remaining peach juice; mix in cloves.
- Pour all around slice of ham.
- Bake into preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, coating ham with cooking juices every once in a while.
- Transfer slice of ham onto a warm serving plate.
- Dilute cornstarch into cold water; pour into cooking juices.
- Stir until sauce is bubbling and thickened.
- Serve sauce, along with slice of ham.
