- 4 cups [560 g] flour
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] salt
- 1 pound [454 g] shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] vinegar
- 1 cup [250 mL] cold water

- Mix together flour and salt; cut in shortening.
- Mix together beaten egg, vinegar and cold water.
- Using a fork, slowly mix water mixture into flour mixture.
- Refrigerate for 6 hours.
- Roll onto a floured surface.
- Microwave each pie shell on 'HIGH', for 4 to 5 minutes.
