- 4 slices fruity bread
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] softened butter
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 g] super fine sugar [semolina sugar]
- 1 banana, sliced
Custard
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] dry custard mix
- 1 tablespoon [15 g] super fine sugar [semolina sugar]
- 1 1/4 cups [310 mL] milk
For a change
- 4 slices Madeira cake
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] hazelnut-chocolate spread
Fruit Sauce
- 1 pound [454 g] berries [blackcurrants, strawberries, raspberries or blackberries]

- Preheat toaster oven following owner's manual instructions.
- Prepare custard.
- If needed, remove any excess from fruity bread slices.
- Thoroughly mix together softened butter, cinnamon and super fine sugar.
- Spread fruity bread slices with mixture.
- Arrange 2 fruity bread slices, buttered side down, onto toaster-oven rack.
- Garnish both slices with banana slices; top with remaining fruity bread slices, buttered side up.
- Toast for 2 to 3 minutes, to warm-up banana slices.
- Serve really hot along with custard, as a snack or for dessert.
Custard
- Mix together custard mix, super fine sugar and a little of the milk.
- Slowly pour in remaining milk, stirring well.
- Microwave mixture on 'MAXIMUM', for 2 to 3 minutes stirring after 2 minutes or as needed, and at the end of cooking time.
For a change
- Prepare fruit sauce.
- Using Madeira cake instead of fruity bread, spread 2 cake slices with the same butter/cinnamon/sugar mixture.
- Then spread cake slices with hazelnut-chocolate spread.
- Top with remaining Madeira cake slices; toast in toaster-oven.
- Serve this sandwich coated with hot fruit sauce.
Fruit Sauce
- Microwave berries on 'MAXIMUM' for 5 minutes.
- If desired, strain sauce.
- Serve really hot.
