Ground Veal Rice Dish

As mixed frozen vegetables, I like very much adding Mexican-style mixed frozen vegetables.

  • Approximately 21 1/4 ounces [600 g] ground veal
  • 1 [128-ounce / 796-mL] can stewed tomatoes
  • Hint of sugar
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons [30 to 45 mL] dry onion soup mix
  • A little chili powder
  • 1 cup [250 mL] long grain white rice
  • 2 cups [500 mL] frozen mixed vegetables
  • Stirring, brown ground veal into a casserole.
  • Mix in stewed tomatoes, sugar, dry onion soup mix and chili powder.
  • Bring to just a boil.
  • Pour mixture into a microwave-safe dish.
  • Mix in rice.
  • Microwave mixture for 10 minutes, at medium-low.
  • Mix in frozen mixed vegetables.
  • Microwave for 10 to 15 minutes more, until all of liquid has been absorbed.
