To give the chicks an appetizing color, do not forget to brush the chicks with brown or barbecue sauce, once before cooking and once at half-time. Just before serving, chicks can be lightly sprinkled with paprika or microwave seasonings. For an elegant, out of the ordinary evening meal, first serve a hors d'oeuvre made of crab or smoked salmon, along with whole wheat crackers. Serve these chicks surrounded with mini mashed potato mounds, carrot sticks and sliced zucchinis: arrange 8 ounces [227 g] carrot sticks all around a serving plate, sprinkle with water, cover and microwave for 2 minutes on 'MAXIMUM'. Arrange 8 ounces [227 g] zucchini slices in the center of the serving plate, cover and microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, until tender. Leave to rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving. For dessert, serve a fresh fruit salad. |
