Marinara Sauce

Can be used to cook fish or seafood. Can also be poured over pasta, and cooked vegetables such as zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower.

  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] water
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] basil
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] corn oil
  • Pour tomato paste and water into a microwave-safe dish.
  • Stir in minced garlic, chopped parsley and basil.
  • Season with pepper.
  • Cover and microwave for 5 minutes, on 'HIGH'.
  • Well stir in corn oil.
