- 2 ounces [56 g] butter
- 6 teaspoons [30 mL] cornstarch
- 1 1/4 cups [310 mL] milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Into a bowl, melt butter into microwave oven, covered, for 30 to 60 seconds on 'MAXIMUM'.
- Stir in conrstarch; well stir in milk.
- Salt and pepper.
- Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
