White Sauce for Vegetables [microwave]

  • 2 ounces [56 g] butter
  • 6 teaspoons [30 mL] cornstarch
  • 1 1/4 cups [310 mL] milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Into a bowl, melt butter into microwave oven, covered, for 30 to 60 seconds on 'MAXIMUM'.
  • Stir in conrstarch; well stir in milk.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Microwave for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring often.
