Layered Vanilla-Chocolate Fudge

Comments: A rich and creamy microwaved fudge, a good, 'interesting' gift.
It can easily be frozen, well-wrapped into plastic wrap, so that it does not dry out.
IngredientsPreparation
  • 1 teaspoon [5 g] butter [for the mold, if needed]
Vanilla Fudge
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 1 cup [200 g] sugar
  • 1 cup [250 mL] whipping cream [35% m.s.g.]
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
Chocolate Fudge
  • 1 cup [250 mL] whipping cream [35% m.s.g.]
  • 1 cup [200 g] sugar
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] miniature chocolate chips
  • Nuts, to taste [optional]
  • Line a gift box with plastic wrap or butter a mold.
  • Prepare vanilla fudge; pour into box or mold.
  • Prepare chocolate fudge; slowly, evenly pour all over vanilla fudge, even if vanilla fudge has not yet hardened.
Vanilla Fudge
  • Mix together brown sugar, sugar and whipping cream into a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave on 'HIGH', 3 times 3 minutes, stirring between each 3-minute time.
  • Stir in vanilla and butter.
  • Mix with an electric mixer for approximately 2 minutes, until of desired consistency.
Chocolate Fudge
  • Mix together whipping cream, sugar and brown sugar into a clean microwave-safe bowl.
  • Microwave on 'HIGH', 3 times 3 minutes, stirring between each 3-minute time.
  • Stir in vanilla, butter and chocolate chips until completely melted; if desired, mix in nuts.
  • Mix with an electric mixer for a few seconds [because of the chocolate, this fudge hardens faster].
