Candied Carrot Sticks [microwave]

Just sweet, shiny and tender carrots, to be served with steaks, roasted veal or beef.
  • 6 to 8 tender carrots
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon [7.5 mL] brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons [45 g] butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • Peel carrots; cut carrots in sticks.
  • Transfer carrot sticks into a 4-cup [1 L] microwave-safe dish.
  • Pour in water; add 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] of the brown sugar.
  • Stir, cover and microwave on 'MAXIMUM for 7 to 8 minutes', stirring well after 5 minutes.
  • Well mix in remaining 1 teaspoon [5 mL] brown sugar, butter and salt.
  • Microwave on 'MAXIMUM' for 4 minutes.
  • Stir, and serve.
