Plain Broccoli

A microwave-oven with an 'auto-sensor' will cook broccoli to perfection, following owner's manuel instructions, as cooking time may vary depending on the way broccoli is cut.
First, remove leaves from broccoli. If desired, cut flowerets from stems before cooking.
To brown almonds, arrange 1 cup [250 mL] almonds [blanched, whole, sliced, slivered or halved], or any other nut, onto a plate. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes on 'MEDIUM-MAXIMUM', stirring every minute, until evenly browned. Leave to rest for 2 minutes, as they will darken; stir.
These are nice to have some on hand, to sprinkle over fish, vegetables and even desserts.
