- 1 pound [454 g] small really fresh turnips
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] water
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
- 2 teaspoons [10 g] super fine sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] nutmeg

- Arrange turnips into a shallow dish; pour in water and lemon juice.
- Microwave on 'MAXIMUM' covered for 10 to 15 minutes [10 minutes for really small and fresh turnips], stirring often while cooking.
- Drain turnips; set aside.
- Into a small bowl, melt butter, covered on 'MAXIMUM' for 30 seconds.
- Mix in sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Coat turnips with butter mixture.
- Microwave, covered on 'MAXIMUM' for 2 minutes.
- Drain.
