Creamy Cabbage Belgium-Style [microwave]

Chopped cabbage, cooked in cream, without starch.
To serve as in Belgium, arrange cooked cabbage into the center of a warm dish; arrange microwaved small potatoes all around and serve, with thinly sliced ham and mustard.
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] cream
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] minced parsley
  • 1 medium-size onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves
  • 5 cups [1.25 L] finely shredded cabbage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Mix together, into a 6-cup [1.5-L] microwave-safe dish, cream, butter, parsley, onion and cloves.
  • Microwave for 4 minutes on 'HIGH'.
  • Well mix in shredded cabbage; salt and pepper.
  • Cover dish and microwave on 'HIGH' for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Mix well.
  • Check for doneness, as cooking time may vary by 1 or 2 minutes, depending on how finely the cabbage is shredded.
  • Mix well, and serve.
