- 3 tablespoons [45 g] butter
- 6 to 8 cups [1.5 to 2 L] shredded cabbage
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] wine or cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] celery, caraway or dill seeds
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3 fresh, unpeeled tomatoes, diced
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] sugar

- Into an 8-cup [2-L] microwave-safe casserole, melt butter on 'HIGH' for 2 minutes.
- Well mix in shredded cabbage, onion slices and wine or cider vinegar.
- Mix in celery, caraway or dill seeds; salt and pepper.
- Mix.
- Top mixture with tomato dices.
- Sprinkle tomatoes with sugar.
- Cover casserole and microwave on 'HIGH' for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Thoroughly mix, and serve.
