- 1 pound [454 g] Brussels sprouts
- 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter
- 6 green onions, finely minced
- 3 tablespoons [45 mL] water
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] wine or cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon [5 g] sugar
- Salt and pepper

- Clean and trim Brussels sprouts as you would for plain Brussels sprouts recipe; set aside.
- Into a microwave-safe dish, melt butter on 'HIGH' for 1 minute.
- Stir in green onions; microwave on 'HIGH' for 1 minute.
- Mix well; mix in prepared Brussels sprouts.
- Stir in water.
- Cover and microwave on 'HIGH' for 6 minutes.
- Remove Brussels sprouts from cooking liquid, reserving both separately.
- Stir wine or cider vinegar and sugar into cooking liquid; thoroughly mix.
- Microwave on 'HIGH' for 4 minutes, or until almost all of the liquid has evaporated.
- Salt and pepper Brussels sprouts, to taste.
- Delicately stir in vinegar mixture; microwave on 'HIGH' for 1 minute and serve.
