Brussels Sprouts with Golden Butter

Golden lemon rind butter, poured over Brussels sprouts is a favorite in French Cuisine.

  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 g] sugar
  • 1 pound [454 g] Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter
  • Grated rind of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sprinkle sugar over the bottom of a microwave-safe dish; clean and trim Brussel sprouts.
  • Cook Brussels sprouts as you would for plain Brussels sprouts recipe, into sugar coated dish.
  • Drain Brussels sprouts.
  • Into a clean dish, heat together butter and lemon rind on 'HIGH for 2 minutes'; stir.
  • As soon as butter is golden brown, pour it all over Brussels sprouts.
  • Stir, salt and pepper.
  • Serve.
