- 1 medium-size celeriac
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 g] sugar
- Softened or melted butter [optional]
- Minced parsley or chives [optional]

- Peel celeriac.
- Onto a plate, mix together salt and sugar; roll peeled celeriac into mixture.
- Loosely wrap coated celeriac into plastic wrap.
- Transfer celeriac onto a microwave-safe rack.
- Microwave celeriac on 'HIGH' for 8 to 10 minutes, according to the size of the celeriac.
- Check for doneness with the tip of a knife, piercing through the plastic wrap.
- Leave to rest for 10 minutes before unwrapping.
- To serve, unwrap celeriac and:
- 1 - Roll celeriac into softened or melted butter; sprinkle all over with minced parsley or chives.
- 2 - Mash celeriac with butter, until creamy; mix in minced parsley or chives.
- 3 - Dice celeriac; mix into a stew.
