  • 2 [8 1/2-ounce / 250-g each] packs frozen broccoli flowerets
  • 4 tablespoons [60 mL] water
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter or margarine
  • 2 3/4 ounces [78 g] herbs and garlic flavored cream cheese
  • 1 [10-ounce / 284-mL] can cream of shrimp soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] grated lemon rind
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, to taste

  • Cream of smoked salmon, of lobster...soup
  • Creamy soft dough cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] dried herbs [if needed]
  • Microwave frozen broccoli flowerets and water, covered on 'MAXIMUM' for 9 to 10 minutes or until soft, turning dish twice.
  • Well drain.
  • Arrange drained broccoli flowerets in a square microwave-safe dish.
  • Into a small bowl, brown together green onions and butter or margarine on 'MAXIMUM' for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring once.
  • Mix in cream cheese, until melted.
  • Mix in cream of shrimp soup and lemon rind; salt and pepper.
  • Pour sauce over broccoli flowerets; sprinkle with paprika.
  • Microwave on 'MAXIMUM' for 5 minutes, turning dish twice.
Variations
  • Use another creamy fish or shellfish soup instead of cream of shrimp soup.
  • Use a creamy soft dough cheese instead of herbs and garlic flavored cream cheese.
  • If cheese is not seasoned, mix in some dried herbs.
