- 2 pounds [1 kg] tiny new potatoes, well scrubbed and pricked with a fork
- Salt and pepper, to taste

- Into a 5-cup [1.25-L] microwave-oven-safe casserole, melt unsalted butter, covered on 'MAXIMUM' for 1 minute.
- Add potatoes; pepper generously and stir until potatoes are well coated with melted butter.
- Cover casserole; microwave on 'MAXIMUM' for 12 minutes, until just tender.
- Leave to rest for 3 minutes; if desired, season with salt and more pepper.
- Arrange potatoes into a serving dish; pour melted butter all over.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh dill or parsley sprigs.
