Michele's Spaghetti Sauce

  • 4 onions, chopped
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 carrots, diced
  • 4 celery stalks, sliced
  • 1 pound [1 kg] ground beef
  • 1 pound [1 kg] ground pork
  • 3 [10-ounce / 284-mL] each cans cream of tomato soup concentrate
  • 1 [6-ounce / 170-mL] can tomato paste
  • 1 [28-ounce / 796-mL] can tomatoes
  • 8 bay leaves
  • 2 whole chiles
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Really well mix together all ingredients into a large casserole.
  • Bring mixture to a boil; leave to simmer slowly, for 2 hours.
  • Serve, removing bay leaves and chiles.
