- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vegetale oil
- 4 green onions or 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/4 sweet green pepper, membranes removed and seeded, chopped
- 2 cups [500 mL] hot water
- 1 teaspon [5 mL] salt
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] raw rice

- Heat oil into a casserole.
- Brown together chopped green or regular onion and sweet green pepper into hot oil.
- Pour hot water into casserole; salt, then mix in rice.
- Leave to simmer for 20 minutes, before serving.
