How to Stretch Butter

Comments: Two for the price of one... to get cheap high quality butter, without any change in flavor, nor in color!
Servings: 2 pounds [1 kg]
  • 1 pound [454 g] butter
  • 1/2 cup - 1 teaspoon [120 mL] evaporated milk
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 or 5 drops jellow food coloring
  • Bring butter to room temperature for 5 to 6 hours.
  • Stirring, using a wooden spoon, an egg beater or an electric beater, really slowly pour evaporated milk into butter.
  • Salt, then color butter to taste; keep refrigerated.
