- 1/3 cup [75 g] shortening
- 1 onion, chopped
- 6 teaspoons [30 mL] liquid [or 6 cubes] beef broth concentrate
- 2 cups [500 mL] water
- 2 [1 tablespoon - 7 g] each packs unflavored gelatine
- Pepper, to taste

- Melt shortening into a medium-size casserole; lightly brown chopped onion.
- Dilute or dissolve beef broth concentrate in water; pour into casserole.
- Pepper, heat until hot then sprinkle unfalvored gelatine all over hot liquid.
- Stir until completely dissolved.
- Pour mixture into small bowls.
- Refrigerate until set before serving, cold.
