Marguerite's Tomato Soup

If desired, just before serving, really slowly pour approximately 1 cup [250 L] milk into soup.
1 [28-ounce / 796-mL] can tomatoes with juice
3 [28-ounce / 796-mL] each cans water
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] baking soda
1 teaspoon [5 g] sugar
Vermicelli noodles, to taste
Bring together tomatoes with juice, water, baking soda and sugar to a boil.
Leave to boil for 10 minutes.
Stirring, mix in vermicelli noodles; leave to simmer until tender.
