Maurice's Ground Pork and Beef Meatballs

  • 1 pound [454 g] ground beef
  • 1 pound [454 g] ground pork
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] oats
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] milk
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] garlic salt
Sauce
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] vinegar
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] water
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cornstarch
  • A little water
  • Into a bowl, mix together f=ground beef and pork, oats, milk, onion salt and garlic salt.
  • Shape mixture into balls.
  • Into a casserole, bring together brown sugar, vinegar, 3/4 cup [190 mL] water, paprika and salt of sauce to a boil.
  • Delicately add meatballs to sauce; leave to simmer slowly, until well-done.
  • Dilute cornstarch into a little water; delicately stir into meatballs mixture.
  • Stir until thickened, before serving.
