Sweet Pie and Meatpie Dough

Servings: 2 [8-inch / 20-cm] each pie shells
Sweet Pie Dough
  • 2 cups [280 g] flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1/2 cup [115 g] shortening
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] icy water or 7-Up
Meatpie Dough
  • 2 cups [280 g] flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1/4 cup [60 g] shortening
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] icy water
  • Mix together flour and salt.
  • Cut shortening into dry ingredients.
  • Dampen mixture with icy water, or 7-Up.
  • Shape dough into a ball; refrigerate until ready to roll dough.
