- 1 cup [200 g] sugar
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] water
- Cream of tartar [as big as a pea]
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup [60 g] shortening
- Any flavoring, to taste
- Icing sugar

- Boil together sugar, water and cream of tartar until mixture shapes into a thread when slowly falling from a spoon.
- Beat eggs until firm.
- Beating, slowly pour sugar mixture into beaten eggs.
- Beat until cold.
- Cream shortening before mixing it, along with favoring, into frist mixture.
- Using icing sugar, thicken frosting to taste.
