Butterscotch Sauce

Comments: Serve this sauce warm or cold, over a pudding, some ice cream or a slice of cake.
  • 1 cup [250 mL] corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon [3.75 g] butter
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] milk
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] vanilla
  • Into a casserole, bring corn syrup, salt, butter, brown sugar and milk to a boil.
  • Leave to boil for 5 minutes, stirring.
  • Remove from heat and mix in vanilla.
  • Serve warm, or leave sauce to cool completely.
