Chocolate Pudding

  • 1 cup [140 g] flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] baking powder
  • 3/4 cup [150 g] sugar
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] vanilla
  • 1 cup [250 mL] brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 cups [440 mL] boiling water
  • Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Into a bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.
  • Mix together oil, milk and vanilla; mix into dry ingredients.
  • Pour dough into a pudding mold.
  • Mix together brown sugar and cocoa powder; sprinkle mixture all over dough.
  • Slowly pour boiling water all over.
  • Bake into preheated oven, for approximately 45 minutes.
