- 1/3 cup [75 g] sugar
- 2 tablespoons [17.5 g] flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon [15 g] butter or margarine
- 4 cups [1 L] apple slices*
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] lemon juice
Topping
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] brown sugar
- 3/4 cup [105 g] flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/3 cup [75 g] butter or margarine, melted
- 3/4 cup [190 mL] chopped nuts

- Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
- Mix together all topping ingredients [brown sugar, flour, salt, butter or margarine and chopped nuts]; reserve.
- Into a clean bowl, well mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon and melted butter or margarine.
- Butter a 6-cup [1.5 L] baking dish.
- *Peel, core, slice then sprinkle apple slices with lemon juice.
- Delicately mix apple slices into flour mixture, until well coated.
- Evenly arrange apple slices into prepared baking dish.
- Evenly sprinkle apple slices with reserved topping.
- Brown into preheated oven, for approximately 30 minutes.
