Lone Star SteakhouseŽ Baked Sweet Potato

  • 4 garnet yams
  • 1/2 cup [125 mL] whipped butter
  • 3 tablespoons [45 g] sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons [7.5 mL] cinnamon
  • Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C].
  • Bake yams for 45 to 75 minutes [bigger yams take longer to cook.
  • When they are done, the outside will have darkened and the inside will be soft.
  • You may see liquid oozing out from the potato and charring.
  • When the potato is sliced open, the inside of the skin will be charred black from the caramelizing sugar in the potato.
  • This is a perfectly cooked sweet potato or yam.
  • Mix together cinnamon and sugar.
  • To serve, slice each sweet potato down the center.
  • Spoon in 2 tablespoons [30 mL] of the whipped butter, then sprinkle top of each sweet potato with some of the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
