- 2 cups [500 mL] biscuit baking mix
- 1 3/4 cup [400 g] finely shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2/3 cups [160 mL] milk
- 2 tablespoons [30 g] butter, melted then divided
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] fine parsley flakes
- 1/3 cup [80 mL] fresh or canned shredded crabmeat
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic powder

- Preheat oven to 450°F [230°C].
- Into a medium bowl, combine biscuit baking mix, 1 cup [225 g] shredded Cheddar cheese, milk, and 1/2 of melted butter.
- Mix by hand until well combined.
- Pat out dough into an approximately 8-inch [20-cm] in diameter circle with a slight lip around the edge, like a pizza crust.
- Sprinkle top of dough with parsley flakes after making sure that dried parsley flakes are crushed fine.
- You can easily crush parsley flakes into a small bowl using your thumb and forefinger.
- Sprinkle shredded crabmeat all over top of dough, then sprinkle crabmeat with remaining shredded Cheddar cheese.
- Don't go all of the way to the edge of dough; leave a margin of a 1/2-inch [1.3-cm] or so all around the edge.
- Bake into preheated oven for 14 to 16 minutes, until cheese on top begins to slightly brown.
- Combine remaining melted butter with garlic powder; brush mixture over the top of crabmeat bake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Slice bake into 8 wedges and serve, hot.
