Beef Stroganoff
Comments: Serve over boiled wide noodles.
  • 2 pounds [900 g] round steak
  • 1/4 cup [35 g] flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon [5 mL] garlic bits
  • 3 tablespoons [45 g] butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] soy sauce
  • 2 beef broth cubes
  • 1 [10-ounce / 284-mL] can cream of mushroom soup concentrate
  • 1 cup [250 mL] water
  • 8 ounces [227 g] cream cheese, into cubes
  • Cut steak into 1 x 1/2-inch [2,5 x 1,3-cm] strips.
  • Mix steak strips into already mixed together flour, pepper, salt and garlic bit.
  • Add to crock pot, along with butter, chopped onion, soy sauce, beef broth cubes, cream of mushroom soup concentrate and water.
  • Cook on low for 4 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Add cream cheese cubes to mixture.
  • Cook for 30 minutes more.
