Apple Butter

  • 8 cups [2 L] mashed apples*
  • 4 cups [800 g] sugar
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] ground clove
  • Hot sterilized jars
  • *Peel core then crush apples.
  • Mix together crushed apples, sugar, cinnamon and ground clove into a slow cooker.
  • Cook on 'HIGH' for 5 hours, then on 'LOW' for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour into hot sterilized jars, and seal.
