- 1 [4-pound / 1.8-kg] beef roast
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vinegar
- 1 small bottle ketchup
- 2 cups [500 mL] chopped celery
- 3 onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] salt
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chili powder
- 2 cups [500 mL] water

- If needed, preheat oven to 275 to 325°F [135 to 160°C].
- Arrange beef roast into slow cooker or into a deep casserole.
- Into a bowl, mix together vinegar, ketchup, chopped celery and onions, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and water; pour over roast.
- Cook into slow cooker or bake into preheated oven, for 5 hours.
- Remove meat from casserole or slow cooker.
- Break apart or shred cooked beef.
