- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vegetable oil
- 2 pounds [1 kg] round or chuck steak, into 1-inch [2.5-cm] cubes
- 2 [8-ounce / 250-mL] each cans tomato sauce
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] chili powder
- 2 teaspoons [10 mL] paprika
- 1/4 cup [60 g] sugar
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] vinegar
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] molasses
- 2 cups [500 mL] 1/4-inch [6-mm] thick carrot slices
- 2 cups [500 mL] peeled tiny white onions
- 1 large sweet green pepper, membranes and seeds removed, into 1-inch [2.5-cm] cubes

- Brown steak cubes into hot vegetable oil.
- Transfer steak cubes into a slow cooker.
- Well mix in tomato sauce, chili powder, paprika, sugar, salt, vinegar, molasses, carrot slices, tiny white onions and sweet green pepper cubes.
- Cook for 6 to 7 hours on 'LOW', or for 4 hours on 'HIGH'.
