- 1 pound [454 g] stewing beef cubes
- 1 [12-ounce / 340-mL] jar beef or beef and mushroom sauce
- 6 medium potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch [1.3-cm] each dices
- 6 carrots, cut into thick slices
- 3 stalks celery, cut into thick slices [optional]
- 2 or 3 onions, cut into wedges
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt [optional]
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon [1 to 2.5 mL] pepper [optional]

- Arrange beef cubes over the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Pour in beef or beef and mushroom sauce.
- Evenly top with potato dices, carrot slices, celery slices if desired, and then with onion wedges.
- If desired, salt and pepper mixture.
- Delicately mix together all the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on 'HIGH' for 1 hour, or on 'LOW' for 6 hours.
