Beef Meatballs, Barbecue sauce
Comments: Serve these over boiled white rice, or noodles.

  • 1 pound [454 g] ground beef
  • 1 cup [250 mL] finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] milk
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] pepper
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] cooking oil
  • 2 [8-ounce / 227-mL each] cans tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon [5 mL] m.s.g. [optional]
  • Mix together ground beef, finely chopped onion, egg, milk, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
  • Shape mixture into 12 small balls.
  • Into a frypan, brown balls into really hot cooking oil; throw away excess fat from frypan.
  • Mix together tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and, if desired, m.s.g.; pour all over meatballs, into frypan.
  • Simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes turning often to glaze meatballs, before serving.
