- 1/4 cup [60 g] butter
- 4 large onions, sliced
- 3 [10-ounce / 284-mL each] cans beef consomme
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- Pepper, to taste
- Cinnamon, to taste
- 1/4 cup [60 mL] dry white wine
- Dry breadcubes, to taste
- Any grated cheese, to taste

- Into a casserole, melt onion slices into melted butter over low heat for 20 minutes.
- Stir in beef consomme and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a boil.
- Sprinkle soup with salt, pepper and cinnamon.
- Pour in dry white wine.
- Serve soup immediately, along with dry breadcubes and grated cheese into separate serving bowls.
