Beef and Kidney Beans Macaroni

  • 1 to 1 1/2 pounds [454 to 680 g] ground beef
  • 1/2 sweet green pepper, membranes and seeds removed, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chili powder, to taste
  • A little garlic powder
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 pound [454 g] macaroni elbows
  • Brown together ground beef and chopped sweet green pepper and onion.
  • Salt, pepper then sprinkle mixture with chili powder and garlic powder.
  • Stir in kidney beans.
  • Simmer over low heat.
  • Meanwhile, boil macaroni elbows into salted boiling water until 'al dente'; drain.
  • Stir drained macaroni noodles into ground beef mixture.
  • Reheat and serve.
