Ground Beef Noodle Casserole

  • 1 tablespoon [15 mL] salt
  • 1 pound [454 g] ground beef
  • 3 cups [750 mL] any uncooked noodles
  • 1 pack dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup [250 mL] tomato sauce
  • 2 cups [500 mL] water
  • Sprinkle salt all over the bottom of a frypan, so that food will not stick to the bottom.
  • Stirring, brown ground beef until well done; drain off fat.
  • Evenly arrange noodles all over ground beef; sprinkle all over with dry onion soup mix.
  • Pour in already mixed together tomato sauce and water.
  • Without stirring, press noodles down into liquid.
  • Tightly cover frypan; cook mixture over high heat, until you can see some vapor coming out all around the lid.
  • Lower heat; simmer over really low heat, for 20 minutes.
  • Stir and serve.
