- 3/4 cup [150 g] sugar
- 1/4 cup [60 g] butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] grated orange rind
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups [280 g] flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons [12.5 mL] baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] salt
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] nutmeg
- 1 cup [250 mL] milk
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] golden raisins
- 1/2 cup [125 mL] chopped pecans
- 5 tablespoons [75 mL] poppyseeds

- Preheat oven to 400°F [200°C].
- Cream together sugar, softened butter and grated orange rind.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Into a clean bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
- Add dry ingredients to eggs mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
- Fold in golden raisins, chopped pecans and poppyseeds.
- Spoon mixture into muffin tins, up to approximately 3/4th.
- Bake into preheated oven, for 20 minutes.
