- 1 cup [250 mL] beef broth or consomme
- 2 tablespoons [17.5 g] flour
- 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 mL] onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] garlic powder
- Pepper and salt, to taste

- Into a saucepan or a double-boiler if possible, mix together beef broth or consomme, flour, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper and salt until smooth [no more lumps].
- Bring to a boil, stirring.
- Cook, over medium heat, until of desired consistency.
- Lower heat and leave to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve.
