- 1 cup [250 mL] uncooked long grain rice
- 2 cups [500 mL] any broth
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] olive or canola oil
- 1/2 sweet green pepper, membranes and seeds removed, diced
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 10 ounces [284 mL] fresh or canned mushroom slices
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 green onion, minced
- Pinch of savory
- Pinch of thyme
- Pinch of oregano
- Pinch of basil
- 2 tablespoons [30 mL] soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon [15 mL] chili sauce
- Pepper and salt, to taste

- Preheat oven to 375°F [190°C].
- Mix together all ingredients.
- Evenly spoon mixture into a square greased oven-safe dish; cover dish.
- Bake into preheated oven for approximately 60 minutes.
- Leave to rest for 10 minutes, before serving.
