- 1 cup [250 mL] milk [2% m.s.g. or less]
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon [5 g] sugar
- 1 teaspoon [5 mL] baking powder [optional]
- 1 cup [250 mL] whole wheat flour
- 1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] vanilla
- 1 teaspoon [5 g] butter, margarine or oil [5 mL]

- Into a bowl, beat together milk, beaten egg, sugar, if desired baking powder, whole wheat flour and vanilla.
- Over medium to high heat, cook 1/4 cup [60 mL] pancake dough into a lightly greased frypan.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Serve.
