Infallible Pastry Dough

1/6 dough or shell = 1 bread + 1 fat
This easy-to-do pastry dough contains a little fat, and is delicious. It can either be used when baking a meat pie or an apple pie. Try it!
Servings: 2 pie shells [6 servings each]
IngredientsPreparation
  • 2 cups [500 mL] whole wheat or rye flour
  • 1/4 cup [60 g] butter, margarine or oil [60 mL]
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons [30 mL] water
  • If desired, preheat oven to 350°F [180°C].
  • Mix together whole wheat or rye flour, butter, margarine or oil, yogurt and water.
  • Shape mixture into 2 balls.
  • Roll dough onto a floured surface, or between 2 sheets of waxed paper.
  • Either fill unbaked shells, or bake shells into preheated oven for approximately 10 minutes.
