Banana Split, Authentic Old-Fashioned Fudge Sauce

  • 1 banana
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 scoop chocolate ice cream
  • 1 scoop strawberry ice cream
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] chopped peanuts
  • 1/4 cup [60 mL] of authentic old-fashioned fudge sauce
  • Whipped cream, to decorate
  • 1 Maraschino cherry, to decorate
Authentic Old-Fashioned Fudge Sauce
  • 6 [1-ounce / 28-g] each semi-sweet chocolate squares
  • 3/4 cup [190 mL] evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup [60 g] sugar
  • Prepare authentic old-fashioned fudge sauce.
  • Peel then half banana lengthwise; arrange halves over the bottom of a long, see-through plate if possible.
  • Arrange vanilla, chocolate and then strawberry ice cream scoops side-by-side over banana slices.
  • Sprinkle all over with chopped peanuts.
  • Evenly pour authentic old-fashioned fudge sauce all over ice cream scoops.
  • Garnish to taste with whipped cream, top with Maraschino cherry, and enjoy!
Authentic Old-Fashioned Fudge Sauce
  • Mix together chocolate squares, evaporated milk and sugar into a heavy casserole.
  • Cook mixture over low heat, stirring to completely met chocolate squares, until all is well combined.
  • Watch carefully!
