French Vanilla Ice Cream [ice cream maker]
Comments: This recipe is for a manual ice cream maker.
Add more or less sugar, to taste.

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups [500 mL] milk
  • 1 cup [200 g] sugar
  • 2 cups [500 mL] cream
  • 2 teaspoons [10 mL] vanilla
  • Beat together eggs and milk into a large saucepan.
  • Mix in sugar.
  • Cook over low heat stirring until thickened, for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Mixture should smoothly coat to a spoon.
  • Leave to cool completely before mixing in cream and vanilla.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Pour mixture into ice cream maker cylinder.
  • Process following manufacturer's instructions.
